Pros

Decent pay to begin Casual dress Flexible schedules Food (was better) Perks (shrinking or disappearing) Growing company

Cons

Vacation allowances are competitive only with minimum wage jobs. You'll see "Creative chaos" as a key strategy, but nowhere is this practiced more heavily than in HR. The most recent example is in IT where promotions are given, but the pay raise that should go along with it isn't given until your anniversary date. Imagine you were hired at the end of December and promoted at the beginning of January a year and change later, the company gets a big savings for almost a full year before they pay you for your new position. Creative, huh? Knee-jerk reactions from business tend to have you and your team running in circles. As I alluded to above, the company is growing. As it does, some of the pluses of being here are dwindling. Very poor diversity.

Pros

There are a lot of great things about Businessolver that make it an appealing place of employment. I enjoyed the flexibility, strong culture, and most importantly the great people that you are able to work with. If you are looking for a fast paced, energetic work experience BSC certainly fits that description. For those willing to come in and work hard opportunities will present themselves. Specifically for a COL there is great flexibility to service your clients as you see best. I was never micromanaged during my time at BSC and was given the leeway to truly control my book of 15 clients. I would recommend Businessolver to any of my friends who are in a spot in their life to put in the time and investment required to be successful here.

Cons

For all of the pro's of employment at Businessolver there are some drawbacks. I was hired for a sales position and ended up in Client Services after 9 months of taking phone calls to support the Participant Services area. This was presented as a "training" period, but seemed to be primarily filling a need for an understaffed call center. My experience in Client Operations was an exercise in instability as our management team reorganized multiple times efforts to alleviate work load. Ultimately, as a COL the work funnels through us and the work load required 50-60 hours a week just to keep your head above water. In the last 6 months the Client Operations area I worked in has had a handful of people either be fired or leave. There is great opportunity here, but you are going to need to put in time that I wasn't able to in order to be successful.
