Where feminism goes to die

Pros

I have met a few really awesome people here.

Cons

I was honestly so excited to work here and now I am frantically looking for other opportunities because everyone with talent is leaving. I honestly have never been this disappointed in a company before. Bustle pretends to be grounded in feminism but it is all just a sham to sell products to women. It is actually really sad. I also agree with other reviews that this office is not very diverse at all.

Pros

-It's a great place to increase your bylines and commune with other great writers. -The exposure you get to write on a platform of this scale is awesome. -You learn how to write quicker.

Cons

-Although you learn how to write quicker, the content seems rushed just to be put out first. -Work culture, especially if you're a remote writer, is non-existent. -Lack of communication on work progress with the writer to editor relationship. -Using google-chat as communication causes many things to get lost in translation. -Some editors do not have effective communication skills. -There isn't a weekly "meeting" with your leaders or editorial section about what's going on with Bustle unless there is a sudden "change" in the company or your individual performance. -Assignments aren't usually given so sometimes pitching can be difficult when 10 other writers may have pitched the same idea as yours previously.
