Pros

Working at Butternut feels like no other company I have worked for before. It's fast paced and challenging but everyone mucks in together to get the job done. Your opinion is heard and valued and they consider 'what would make this even better?' at every opportunity. It has a real family feel from it's start up roots but this is now backed up with a strong passion for making sure 'squad' experience is paramount. From gifts for colleagues celebrating milestones or having a tough time to creating celebration events like I haven't seen before even in much larger companies, they really do care about the people that work for them.

Cons

Office dogs are a wonderful addition- they can affect concentration!

Pros

- Amazing volunteering opportunities and a chance to make an impact on the local community, as well as volunteer with animal rescue charity partners - Lots of genuine care for squad members at Co-founder and Leadership team level - Great company benefits, e.g. flexible and hybrid working, dogs in the office, amazing new office space and breakfast served in the office each day - Friendly and caring squad who show genuine care and respect for one another - £500 learning and development budget each year: a great opportunity to explore personal and professional growth and development - Actions are actually taken off the back of Engagement and DEI surveys: squad opinions really matter and feedback actually sparks changes - Huge focus on DEI and employee wellbeing through team and location focused initiatives

Cons

- The team is growing very fast, meaning there is a consistent fast paced environment at Butternut with few low periods in the year.

Pros

I’ve been at Butternut Box for nearly 3 years, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best places I’ve ever worked. The company really cares about its employees and goes above and beyond to create a positive and supportive work environment. From day one, it was clear that Butternut Box values its people. The leadership team is approachable, transparent, and genuinely interested in creating a culture of trust and respect. There’s a real sense of teamwork, and everyone—from senior management to team members—works together to make sure that we’re not only meeting our goals but also growing both personally and professionally. The benefits are really good. They offer generous health coverage, wellness programs, and flexible working options, which shows how much they prioritise work-life balance while supporting business needs too. They have recently introduced a sabbatical benefit, and they really encourage taking time to recharge.

Cons

Honestly, there aren’t many downsides. Like any fast-growing company, there can be periods of change or restructuring, but the leadership team is always open to feedback and works to ensure that everyone stays on track and feels supported during transitions.
