It was great until the true colors started showing
Pros
Work was rewarding to see students and parents reach their academic goals. Tutors and Program Leads works genuinely with care and effort - they took the time to build relationships with students and made the learning environment enjoyable. I was lucky to have a new center that was quite successful in order to obtain high incentive pays.
Cons
Upon receiving promotion to Program Director, the district manager lied about non-negotiable starting salary only to later find out others were able to start at a higher salary range with less experience. With the non-exempt/exempt law, it jumped my salary to the min. $48K which is $10K more than what I have been getting paid. There were no salary compensation when the role changed and became more demanding and stressful. The extreme increase in budget each month/year made it impossible to obtain any incentives once the center transition to core centers. And the constant verbal threat from DM that I can lose my job if I do not meet the monthly budget. When the performance starts to drop, instead of help and support - they would make you do more work with meeting and webinars to attend.
