Hourly wage rather than salary, which is the only reason we are not overworked past 40 hours because they don’t want to pay us overtime. Staff is also pretty diverse.

Cons

Extreme micromanaging from higher ups, only care about bringing in revenue rather than actual wellbeing of employees or students, they rave about high teacher quality but will hire anybody, low compensation, making us come in person every day when all of the work can be done remotely. All around toxic culture and I should not have ignored all of the red flags I saw from the very beginning of the hiring process. Please avoid this company.

The kids are usually great and seeing them do well is rewarding. Good system for kids who are only doing things by memorization.

Cons

Not paid for prep time, few pay raises, will not compensate you full $20 if your class/shift is cancelled but offer you marking to do for $10, overworked during class, often work during breaks, little opportunity for upward mobility, curriculum is unimaginative

Rewarding to tutor and help students. Good curriculum and helpful materials to help students. Good atmosphere for learning and tutoring.

Cons

Rewarding to tutor students. Sometimes it would be helpful to have a set schedule rather than changing from week to week.
