Pros

My manager, Sunny, was really flexible with my working hours while I was doing my med school interviews. Also, the students there were a blast. I've done tutoring gigs before at places like Kaplan, and never before have I had students come back to thank me after getting accepted to college. C2 really helped a lot of students get into their dream school, and I'm a huge believer in their program after my tenure there.

Cons

It's a wonderful transition job for 9-12 months, but career opportunities beyond basic tutoring are limited. I had some initial grumblings about my hours, but since it's hourly you can't really do anything about it until you are assigned your load of students.

Pros

We are able to help students from all backgrounds and educational levels to succeed.

Cons

We do not get paid vacation - or maybe I should say I don't . There is no group medical or dental insurance for tutors. Most importantly, our schedule and therefore our paid hours may fluctuate from week-to-week.

Pros

it's rewarding to help students, and in my location the management was pretty loose about canceling/rescheduling, dress code, etc. and it was great as a job in concurrence with taking classes since it had mostly evening hours.

Cons

Working with three students who all badly need your help at the same time in completely different subjects can be detrimental to the students. C2 has all sorts of feel-good reasons to do with giving students enough time to work both alone and with you for it's 3-to-1 ratio, but it's really just very cost-effective for them.
