SHADY CADY - Company is Trash

Pros

Coworkers were ok made some new friends.

Cons

Company over promises and under delivers. Schools are baited into signing due to big promises, money or give backs, and free trips, dinners, gifts for principals. Not sure how that is actually legal. Parents are then forced to use the company as their exclusive photographer if they want to be in the yearbook. Marketing schemes are shady, photographers doing the work aren’t paid well, and studio sales associates are trained to hard sell massively over priced packages. Do not give them your credit card number. The company has a history of overcharging and making it extremely difficult to get your money back. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Nepotism is rampant. If you think you can work your way up you are mistaken. The Only people in high paying jobs are family or close friends of the CEO/owner. Company is a sleazy money grab. Once schools find out they drop them, forcing the company to open in new markets and the cycle starts all over again. This Company needs to be investigated. Shady Cady!

Local teams amazing, corporate decisions can be confusing

Pros

Working at CADY was the most fun I ever had at any job, in part because I was working in a field I loved but also because I had a phenomenal team. Coming to work was like hanging out with friends. There's also lot's of opportunities for growth, (I doubled my pay in 2 years), as long as you show dedication, competence, and are willing to learn. Lower management is amazing and wants to see you succeed.

Cons

However, at a corporate level some decisions can be confusing. When I left, we were no longer allotted hours for training days, so all training was done in the field. Extreme budget cuts were being implemented in the form of hours available to work. Note that this is a seasonal job, so if you are not a full time employee do not expect to have enough to live off of from January - June. During June - December, hours get crazy, you'll have 12 hour shifts that start at 4am. If you can't handle that, this job isn't for you. But if you can and you excel, you'll be provided with a fun workplace that will build you up.
