Pros

I have worked at CAQH for over 3 years. It was an up and down ride, but it would've been way harder without the people, who were around me. From the day of my first interview to the last day at work I felt welcome. - People, very helpful, lots of support and nice culture - Great benefits, enough time to take a break, however usually a lot of things to take care of - Beautiful new office, near the metro - Lots of great ideas, and genuine desire to make things better for the industry - Unique forum for the largest healthcare plans to coordinate their efforts and work together vs always competing - Uncoordinated efforts lead to wasted time and resources

Cons

- Heavy dependency on consultants and contractors in many areas (even though they are great and smart people, who has the best intentions... still it is a conflict of interests) - Not well defined strategy, too many things that company wants to be, and focus is the challenge - Solutions and Core are not aligned on their objectives, I suspect that company's superpower and the true identity might be lured down there.

Pros

I work with amazing people and feel like I'm contributing to the mission of our organization. CAQH makes giving back to the community a priority. We have regular company parties and happy hours. Our office is an open and bright space with free beverages and healthy snacks. We have electric standing desks and an onsite fitness facility (equipped with Peloton bikes and a sauna). CAQH offers one work from home day per week and we have 12 holidays off per year (13 when July 4 falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, as we are given Monday or Friday off). We have excellent benefits including an extremely generous 401k. Employees are recognized for great work and are rewarded for achievements!

Cons

Managers should continue to promote an open door policy to their staff.

Great for Those Who Take Initiative and Want to Contribute

Pros

I've read some of the negative reviews about CAQH and those are just completely different from my experience. The common theme among those negative reviews seems to be they were written by reviewers who are not a good fit for a small and growing organization. At CAQH, if you ask, you get an answer. Everyone here is approachable. . . . even the CEO. If your career path isn't clear here, or if you're unclear about your role or the rules, then you are not asking the right questions. Every organization - large or small has challenges and things that frustrate their employees. In the case of CAQH, it is a relatively small and growing organization; not every little process or procedure is detailed in writing and there can be some unpredictability as the organization responds to things outside of its control. However, this also presents opportunities for those who take initiative and want to contribute. If you're looking for a large organization where everything is prescribed and there's little room for change, then don't bother applying here. If you're looking for an organization where you will be challenged with opportunities to learn and contribute in meaningful ways, then this is a great place to do so. The people are amazing. Management cares and listens. There is a pervasive sense of shared purpose. You will learn a lot. Offices are beautiful.

Cons

Is it perfect here? No. Is it close enough? Yes - if you take initiative and ownership of your own career goals; if you want to be part of the solution; and are willing to be flexible and help the organization response to changing needs. There is opportunity here - a great deal of it.
