Pros

if you are an incompetent engineer and laidback person; want to produce nothing & work 30 or less but want to get paid 40hours/week, it is a perfect place for you

Cons

1. No backlogs at all. They will ask you to take your vacations or work reduced hours if you are PM or lower grades. Upper management still gets paid fully. 2. Very large layers of managers consist white American incompetent men with no direction or vision and get paid boat of salary and company stocks. 3. Very small offices with large management without production staff. No chance to win any new projects 4. Racism is the culture in the company and specially in southern offices. They do not respect diversity and foreigners. Women and foreigners do not have any growth positions. Foreigners are treated like sweatshop workers.

Pros

A good place to get some initial engineering experience, but don't plan on staying long.

Cons

The Project Management career path is non-existent. They have it all on paper, but don't practice what they preach. Morale is really low among staff, and there have been a loss of good personnel now that the employment opportunities for engineers are better. The firm has been floundering ever since Tim Wall has taken over, with no direction and the Wilbur Smith buyout was the biggest mistake that has cost the company millions$$$ and valued staff. Instead of trying to retain senior staff that brought the company to it's greatness in the 2000's, most have left or were let go due to utilization pressure. Randy Rogers, the COO of the North American Unit has probably contributed to the loss of many valued employees, as no one wants to work with him. This is definitely not a company I would plan to spend a career at. If you are new engineer and looking for a job, I would recommend other firms. There really is no exciting opportunities with this firm. They are just a commodity provider in the engineering world, not a leader.

Pros

Good benefits. Thats it.

Cons

Too many to list! Very few project opportunities - they have decided to focus on only the mega-projects, so for a given office there may be only 1 or 2 projects in the works, which makes career advancement nearly impossible. The company president only cares about the numbers - he has zero appreciation of the people - and beats a tired drum 'that the company isn't making enough money'. Mind you they've had record revenue years 3 out of the past 4, but no revenue or profit sharing with employees. They are rolling out new software initiatives every couple of months without care that the company staff aren't able to keep up. Everyone has impossible utilization goals. They are shrinking every office across the company and forcing staff with 30 years of experience to sit in call-center cubicle arrangements.
