Pros
The benefits are genuinely good. They provide excellent health insurance at affordable rates. They have absorbed the difference in cost for premium increases for the last several years so employees are paying the same rate every year. Mid-level management cares about their staff and will often vouch for them. It's a shame that their concerns typically fall on deaf ears. The workforce is incredibly diverse and team oriented. This is a decent opportunity for most individuals possessing little-no professional work experience.
Cons
The title says it all. Where to begin? Most upper management operates in an extremely rigid fashion and are not open to most recommendations from employees meant to improve processes or quality of life. Concerns expressed by entry-mid level management often fall on deaf ears. There is absolutely zero accountability among upper leadership, yet there is no hesitation to write up entry-mid level employees. There have been several instances where members of the leadership team have cursed out and harassed staff, yet nothing was done about it. Entry-mid level employees have been terminated for much less. Most staff (Operations, in particular) is grossly under-payed and overworked under the guise of budget restrictions. The company can't afford increases or hiring of additional staff, but they continue to hire outside consultants and various unnecessary niche leadership roles at exorbitant rates. Rather than hire replacements to accommodate turnover, staff is moved around and/or expected to absorb additional responsibilities with no additional compensation. Salary increases for promotions are inconsistent and borderline discriminatory. Interoffice politics among leadership are so petty and bureaucratic, it's enough to make you want to put your head through a wall. Key decisions are usually passed around by management like a game of hot potato. This makes it near impossible for anyone to get anything accomplished. Yet there is still an expectation to complete tasks and projects against an unrealistic timeline.
