Pros

Growing company, promote innovative thinking

Cons

Too lean of an organization which causes employees to perform multiple jobs for long lengths of time when turnover occurs. Typical work week is 70+ hours per week. Very slow to backfill and prevent employees from promoting into higher positions due to business critical policies.

Bad Place if You Value Your Career

Pros

The compensation historically has been good at CHEP, but that seems to be changing. No other pros. It is not a good place if you have any leadership aspirations since you need to be a favorite of the existing leadership to advance.

Cons

Where do I begin...CHEP is almost seductive in its "sell" to get you to join the business, particularly if you have expertise they need. But once you get there, you become less valued and even with specific knowledge and experience will find yourself being marginalized. Almost every year the business is "restructured" which usually means that the people who are dedicated and making a difference are eliminated in one way or another, and the folks who are fine with the status quo are retained. The leadership changes are jarring to the organization but senior leaders could care less. Senior leadership has favorites whose opinions they will listen to, regardless of whether these people actually know anything at all about what they are talking about. CHEP is a diversity wasteland above the manager level. They don't seem to think that people of different ethnicities are capable of leadership, with only a very few token exceptions brought in from the outside. They praise non-white employees at the manager and lower levels, but rarely advance them further, even when appropriate opportunities arise. It's a draining place to work and should be avoided.
