Pros

Great people Great benefits Culture used to be strong

Cons

Disappointed with senior leaderships decisions in the past year. Company has had many more turnovers than we’ve ever had in the past. Also disappointed to hear of the vaccine mandate. They are charging all unvaccinated employees 100 dollars a month which is absurd, even if we are remote employees. Seems the company has stopped caring about the individual rights and our choices that we should be allowed to make. I was hoping to be here until retirement but ultimately see my time with the company coming to an end.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. As an organization that helps place healthcare providers in jobs around the country and world, we have seen first-hand what this virus has done to healthcare workers as well as our local communities. We feel it is our responsibility to slow the spread of the virus by requiring our people to be vaccinated in order to work in the office or attend in-person company events. Our people can still choose to be unvaccinated but are required to pay a $100/month surcharge to offset the high cost of COVID-related hospitalization. We know not everyone agrees with this approach but it is in line with our purpose as an organization to care for our people, our customers, and our communities.

Pros

Good PTO and leave benefits… Honestly, there aren’t many pros anymore. They changed investors a few years ago and that’s when things started to go south. They used to tout “putting people first” yet everything they do shows otherwise. They send out surveys all the time but don’t make changes even when the theme of the results are the same, they just ask for more surveys to pretend that they care. They say they’re flexible with your schedule and that you can work from home everyday, but they beg you to come in to the office. They used to have Presidents Club where all of the top performers would go on a big trip together, which was so incredible but they did away with that. The food in the cafeteria is good and the building is nice? There are a few great leaders there but they’re slowly leaving.

Cons

To someone looking to apply, I’d say to hold off. People are leaving in droves and you’ll only be putting yourself in an uncomfortable position or setting yourself up to fail. I wouldn’t want to come into a new place that I’m excited about to see people packing up and leaving. This isn’t the CHG of old. They have horrible leaders on many of their teams that are only out for the good of themselves and make changes without consulting anyone. If it’s not broken, they fix it. In order for people to become leaders, they have to work on a project of sorts or implement something new, so they go around “fixing” everything that was going well only to have it affect everyone in a negative way. But at least that one person is a leader now. They pretend to be transparent but aren’t transparent in the slightest. Raises are literally impossible. You have to basically write essays about why you deserve a raise and/or have a survey sent out to dozens of people about you, only to get maybe a dollar more per hour. It’s like pulling teeth. It’s a dollar! They love the blame game and always point the finger at the wrong individuals so as to protect themselves.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. Did you share any of your feelings with your leaders? It sounds like you have some pretty strong feelings about how leadership should operate. We did change President's Club - but we didn't do away with rewarding generously the folks who were so outstanding with trips they personally picked. Thank you so much for your hard work at CHG. We wish you the best in your new career.

Pros

Very structured training to bring new hires up to speed. They invest a lot in the training program and it does seem to be effective. Management has identified what a great culture looks like. Unfortunately they have done a terrible job implementing it.

Cons

Too many to list. I want to start by saying this has been my personal experience - My CompHealth Experience. When I wake up in the morning, I want to die at the thought of going to work. I almost can't even enjoy my Sundays because I am already stressing about what could be going wrong with my book of business. My mental health has taken an absolute beating as a result of trying to be successful in my role as a recruiter. I have managed to make some decent money - but still not making what I was promised during the interview. There has been so much turnover on the team - which is hilarious because the boast of their high employee retention during foundation training. I always tell myself, "at least I've made it and I still have my job", but I live in constant fear of having a few bad weeks and then having conversations about how if I don’t perform in the next two weeks I’ll be put on performance improvement plan. The CHG Culture that they uphold is so fake and tacky, when you hear the CEO talk, you'll think, "wish I worked there". Managers always promise things will improve, but it doesn't. Sales/ recruiting expectations are insanely unrealistic and I always feel like I am part of a losing team getting reprimanded. Again, just my experience, but I can tell you a lot of other people on my team feel the same way.

Thank you so much for sharing your candid feedback. We are so sorry to hear about the negative experience you're having. We know that physician recruiting is a high pressure, high reward job. But we never want it to negatively impact your mental health. If you're not feeling heard by your leader, please reach out to the employee relations team to talk about those improvement areas that are not being addressed.
