Pros
Environment of trust & teamwork. This is far better than other jobs I've had, and I don't expect people to be perfect--but I feel like people here try to be good to each other. Good pay, good team, good environment. Wonderful with work/life balance. Many of the managers I've worked with have been promoted from the ranks. I've seen people move into new roles and technologies here (e.g. from the website team to the salesforce team, etc) when there are openings. CHG hires for culture first. They've passed over rockstar IT professionals in interviews because they weren't a cultural fit. IMHO, it's a good thing. Managers stay in touch and in tune with their direct reports. They shield us from politics as appropriate (generally good--different levels of skill there). Managers vary in mentoring and technical ability. They always work to help you grow. If you have a performance or other problem, they work with you to improve. If you are doing well, you will know it. (In a previous job, I felt like feedback was either non-existent or too general to be helpful; managers were out of touch, or just plain rude -- so this is a huge improvement). This is a great place to work. I don't expect nirvana. And I don't feel they expect perfection from me, either--just my best (with a good work life balance).
Cons
You don't always get to use the latest-and-greatest technology--but sometimes you do. It varies depending on team, and what your desires are.
