      Large institution -A decent hospital to start a career but not a place for advancement or support in advancing a career

      Pros

      The relationships between other coworkers they are really like family. Opportunity for overtime does exist -there still appears to be a shortage of nurses there for opportunities do exist for those who enjoy working overtime to get it.

      Cons

      No opportunities readily available for advancement. The hospital technology is really behind the times. A shortage of physicians -coupled with the A nursing shortage equals low morale and no opportunities to gain magnet status which would attract more nurses.

      Very caring and loving toward patients. Always wanted to do what was best for them.

      Does not have the religious foundation at the heart of patient care.

      Pros

      Lots of flexibility with your hours, and the work is primarily patient education and administrative. No direct bedside nursing required.

      Cons

      No structure, PTO accrual is so minimal that there will be many days where there is no work for you to do and you will be expected to go without pay.
