      Good place to grow up, move out to find other opportunities

      Pros

      Great place to learn the grain markets and to gain experience.

      Cons

      Options to move up are few even if you go looking for them. Many jobs are already spoken for after they are posted. Old school culture of being at your desk to prove you're committed. If you aren't a "chosen one" you need to either accept your role and wait your turn, or move out.

      Employees who have been with the company 15+ years are resistant to change. When you make a suggestion, they do not listen. The work/life balance is an absolute joke in which you are expected to work 50 hours a week due to the company running so lean. If you plan on working a 40 hour week, get ready for the backlash. If you plan on having a life outside of CHS, do not come here. In my opinion, the company has a bleak future with no vision on how a company should operate in 2018. My recommendation to anyone reading this is to look at another company since I will be.
