Pros

Relatively stable employment environment, as efforts are made to redeploy employees to other contracts, if CSC contract on current job comes to an end.

Cons

CSC does mainly Federal Government contracts, some of which may require security clearance, including secret clearance which may be a problem with some people.

Pros

A wide variety of client companies enables the CSC employee to view different business models and technologies

Cons

Client contracts are staffed conservatively and new business acquisition lags, so any change in client funding usually results in a layoff situation. Ability to transfer to other accounts is limited. Remuneration is usually upper second quartile or low third quartile, so they are not too competative.

Pros

Some managers are good and fair. Lots of technology to work with, but little time to learn new technologies. At least you have a job... this from some managers.

Cons

Expected overtime for salaried employees with no bonuses, unless you're senior management. Benefits reduced (i.e., cutting vacation time). 14 years of service to get 4 weeks of vacation? Continuous layoffs. Employees not valued - layoff an employee with 20 years of service and give them 2 weeks severance? Poor employee morale. Work excessive hours with no overtime and no appreciation for the work you do and then cut your benefits. CSC Portal is a joke.
