Superior Technology - negative work environment

Pros

The software is great with many loyal customers.

Cons

Poor management is the issue. Releases are not planned and work load is heavy ALL year. Be prepared to work 7 days a week - including holidays! Money is the bottom line, not employees or customers. Poor communication within the executive committee trickles down and causes all the extra man hours.

Strong, progressive company with growing pains

Pros

1. Strong financial health: company has been in business for a long time and continues to grow, through expansion and acquisitions; no hiring freeze/layoff worries 2. Fair compensation: salaries are competitive and bonuses are generous; they have a good "pay for performance" philosophy 3. Quality people: company is very team oriented; employees and management are genuinely nice, friendly, helpful 4. Progressive mindset: application development uses Agile/Scrum methodologies, latest technologies, and continuous process improvement 5. Sane work/life balance: managers understand and respect this concept; you are not pushed, either actively or passively, to take on more than you can handle

Cons

1. Disappointing benefits/time off policies: when compared against previous employers, time off is not as generous (sick and vacation time is bundled/must "use it or lose it"), benefits aren't available for 60 days after hire, and vesting schedules are stingy 2. Excessive performance reviews: done on a quarterly basis, it seems you just finish your review when it is time to fill it out again 3. Overcrowded: office space, meeting rooms, and parking spots are hard to come by and no plan in place to alleviate the problem; additionally, "open" floor plans make work environment trying at times 4. "Meeting happy": too many scheduled/impromptu meetings that impact ability to complete assignments
