Pros

- Higher salary compared to local market, good benefits - People in other departments are nice - If you enjoy being spoken to like an idiot by leadership, this is the place for you!

Cons

- Dev organization does not have work/life balance - Releases are not well planned and are whatever leadership feels like doing that week, so dev has to make up for it by working weekends - CTO leads dev, tech ops, QA, product, and CODES - Move to agile development is in name only, no cultural backing from leadership - High turnover: people quit frequently after a short tenure, and people are fired frequently - Parent company turns a blind eye to leadership's public verbal abuse of employees

Management is a problem

Pros

okay benefits. Get to see poor decisions in action. After awhile it gets easier to see the dishonesty.

Cons

Management has shifted to people who just need to have a "high level overview" of what their teams do. This doesn't work when people leave or new employees need training. Team member input is routinely ignored. Few chances for training or advancement. Large disparities in skills needed for various positions yet most are treated like glorified data entry jobs. Management becomes defensive over negative feedback. The big employee survey is not anonymous no matter what hr says. Too many have told the truth on those surveys and then been contacted asking for explanation.

Senior Technology Management is a problem

Pros

- Good team members - Latest Technology - Work from home opportunities - The company makes a good product and it is being adopted by many customers so there are opportunities based on company growth.

Cons

- Excessive turnover in technology staff and management. In past 12 months, heads of App Dev, Product Development, QA and IT Operations have all left. Staff turnover equally high. You are constantly working with someone new in their job. - Senior IT management lacks respect for employee's knowledge or skills. - IT Directors and Managers are OK but have their hands tied and all either give up or leave. - Highly tense environment caused by senior IT management. - Priorities shift frequently and staff takes blame for inability to hit target dates. - Unprofessional and occasionally abusive communication from senior IT management.
