      Light workload but you pay for it

      Pros

      CSC has a pretty laid back culture and the workload is generally pretty light in comparison to other firms. However, there have been occasions where I had to stay late and work weekends.

      Cons

      My role was technically oriented but my group did not value the technical side of the business, although we brought in more billable hours to the firm. Compensation also significantly lagged behind in comparison to other companies for similar occupations. Although management in CSC state that they want to help you develop professionally, they were not helpful in allowing me to switch to other projects and gain a more diverse skill set despite remaining billable.

      Pros

      Starting pay is good her because Provincial Gov. pays $20k of each employe salary who makes $36,717 or more. Benafits are better than alot of other places. Doesn't take a long time to get seniority here because so many leave, turn around is the most I've ever seen. 3 weeks of vacation to start and paid sick days are a bonus.You can browse most of the internet or all of it with proxy.Besides that there aren't many other positive I can think of. I'm here for a while...living the dream paying for the house and cars. Draw your own conclusions.

      Cons

      evrything else...they expect you to stop living your life...company needs 1st! they say. Being told to your face that you are very easy to replace, so like it or lump it.

      It's OK for a little while

      Pros

      starting salaries for associates are good. A good place to start and then move on.

      Cons

      It's a big company, impersonal, and lacking a culture. There are definate disconnects between the various business groups. Consulting (now GBS) can be OK depending on what group. National practices tend to have the most interesting work, but tend to be 100% travel, which can get old real quick. All the perks go to account execs. Sales is key, somehow delivery now seems to be an afterthought. It did not use to be this way. Geographic business units have have a sence of culture and cohesiveness but projects tend to be staff aug or application outsourcing (but maybe this is just in the smaller markets).
