Pros

CSC is a global company with huge resources. You can find yourself working on multiple accounts and the possibility of working overseas is there. They do have a support system for their employees - staff managers are on hand for your queries and HR has always been ready to help. Self improvement is mainly through CBTs of which there is a huge range and also a large library of view-online books.

Cons

They're looking to do everything on the cheap so unless you are managment, they'll probabaly try and outsource your position as soon as they can. If you've found yourself insourced into CSC then forget about trying to improve your package - its not going to happen.

Pros

Very competitive salaries for senior consultants and above in the D.C. area especially if you hold desirable product knowledge in hot technologies. SAP, Oracle, Documentum and other big-ticket technology experience is highly coveted and hiring into the newer Federal Consulting Practice is happening very quickly.

Cons

Very loose structure is good for self-starters but very alienating for others. This is not a place for anyone with less than 8 years of experience. They also tend to sub-contract a lot of work out to other firms.

Pros

As a Project Manager/Consultant there are plenty of opportunities for variety of work and interesting challenging assignments.

Cons

The senior and middle management seem to be afraid to report bad news and they are slow to act decisively on the most important matters. I've observed them avoiding obvious risks and issues (in denial) in the hope that the serious issues will go away. Ultimately the situation becomes a crisis leading to the most senior executive becomng involved to make the decision that should have been made a year earlier.
