      Mid-level management drove me away...

      Pros

      The project management support network is phenomenal. CSC's PM support includes budget and project management as well as resource planning. Also, if you're working for a client that treats you as a partner, the job is quite rewarding.

      Cons

      My mid-level management was clueless as to what was going on in the trenches. For example, they made decisions and enforced offshore resourcing without enabling us to set up the proper infrastructure to make offshore successful. It took at least a year to convince management a plan was necessary to set up the framework to enable offshore resources to effectively contribute to the client's IT projects.

      Not for everybody, but rewarding for the right person

      Pros

      The work is very challenging and the environment is very dynamic. Senior management is very supportive and project managers typically have come up throught the ranks so they are better able to keep their fingers on the pulse and better manage projects. From what I know, compensation is more than fair.

      Cons

      Since we are a vendor of insurance software, marketing often falls into the trap of promising too much in too little time. The fallout often falls on the production staff. The office environment where I work could use a face lift.
