Pros

Management accessability, their doors are always open. Lots of opportunities for advancement within the company without having to move into sales. Competent HR staff. Very friendly and sharp employees. No Prima Donnas here.

Cons

Very very difficult to get good technical training without having to do it virtually. Unless you are on a project you rarely hear from anyone in CSC, some people can feel very isolated. They expect an awful lot of travel but fortunately most of it is Monday thru Thrusday. Middle management seems incompetent at times. There isn't a lot of planning going on before execution begins on many projects.

Pros

1. Outsourcing...In other words, you really have no choice, you've been outsourced and now work for CSC. 2. Avoiding starvation and foreclosure, or at least avoiding immediate job hunting in a slow market.

Cons

1. Obsolete and troublesome internal systems and processes (spreadsheets+Lotus Notes databases+Web 0.1 technology) 2. IT decisions and direction dictated by salesmen and accountants 3. Tactical decisions based not in reality - worrying about patching harmless vulnerabilities on systems living on trusted links while old boxes running telnet and ftp remain on the wire. 4. Spend the majority of time on clerical tasks and bureaucracy

Pros

Policies are geared to achieve good work-life balance. Management is supportive of employees taking personal time.

Cons

Growth is limited. The company is underperforming its peers in the industry (like IBM and Accenture); largely because of a lack of understanding of current market realities. Customers increasingly demand offshore-based services but Business Units in CSC are either ill-equipped or unwilling to use offshore-services as a value proposition to customers.
