Pros

At one time, this was an exciting place to work with challenging technology and great people.

Cons

So many people have left. Management is trying to help moral by forcing culture, it's not working. Demands are overwhelming, I don't blame the people who have left, but I do miss them.

Was good, until it wasn’t.

Pros

CSG was a good place to be for a few years. Challenging tech, big clients, unlimited vacation, some work from home opportunities, and definitely made some long lasting connections.

Cons

Limited growth potential. I had to leave to get anywhere. The Ascendon model for clients was going nowhere and half my department has left now. The folks being promoted have no leadership skills and it doesn’t seem CSG cares. To make matters worse, people will take every opportunity to double cross you. Not a place to be right now.

Declining culture of hire & fire

Pros

* Opportunity to work with talented, dedicated people. Depending on where you land, you could have a great group of peers and managers. * Fair pay, in line with industry standards. * Benefits are still decent (but have been slowly eroding for years). When they offer "unlimited" vacation, they really mean a maximum of 5 weeks or so, heavily dependent on your seniority. * Strong emphasis and initiatives toward creating a more 'hip,' current, and agile culture.

Cons

* Hiring and spending sprees inevitably result in annual layoffs in November / December. * Company is actively working on replacing U.S. workers with cheaper labor in Bangalore, India. The November 2018 announcement of the layoffs of 60+ stateside workers and the immediate closure of a dozen open job requisitions was followed by the announcement that they were hiring 70+ workers in Bangalore. * Occasional "heroic efforts" involving late hours and weekends eventually become expected. Upper management always sides with demanding clients and tells employees to "make it happen," rather than helping manage client expectations. * In general, things have been going downhill for at least 5 years now, and the company's longstanding reputation as a good place to work has all but disappeared.
