Pros

Entry level job to get your foot in the door. The rest well it seems like scheduling is based on seniority. Pay is not competitive at all; it's actually laughable at the amount.  High turnover rate.  Some of the employees havent had any medical training whatsoever.

Cons

There is drama with employees.  The area is ghetto and some of the employees are as well.  Questionable/seedy donors so stay alert.  Management has no clue what goes on on the floor.  Short, short breaks.

Plenty of advancement opportunities

Pros

Worked with my class schedule while I was in college, making graduating possible in a timely manner. Competitive health, 401k, and stock options. The company has over 100 centers in the US and once you reach a certain level the company will pay for you to relocate to another center. Lots of options for advancement. One of the only companies I can think of where you can literally work your way up the ladder with only a high school diploma. The plasma industry is also recession proof. When the economy tanked in 2008-2009 we only did even more business.

Cons

Not always the best at rooting out the worthless employees and terminating them, making things more difficult for those willing to work hard. Base pay starts lower than it should based on the risk of blood borne pathogens. Fast paced work environment which I enjoy but a lot of people do not.

High stress

Pros

Great experience for those looking to branch out into health care, you can learn a lot if you seek it out. They are willing to train you and train you for advancement.

Cons

It is a very high stress job. Very busy and the donors can be hard to handle at times. The pay is low considering the risk of blood borne pathogens. Coworkers gossip excessively and this can cause workers to feel targeted and uncomfortable coming to work, but this is not unique to CSL Plasma.
