There's five meetings every day just to schedule future meetings, then at the end of the week your boss is upset you got nothing done even though there was no time for actual work

Money, insurance, and retirement are good.
Cons
Management doesn't have a clue on how to run a railroad. Over worked, no raise in 5 years. Workforce is less than a skeleton crew. Management take no ownership when things go haywire, T&E crews are the scapegoat. Quality of life was never great because its a 24/7 operation, we had certain perks that kind of made things more bearable but the Company got rid of those things. It's got to the point where the pro aren't worth it unless you have lots time invest.

Working for the railroad is a great career as you're always learning something new. Getting to improve the work processes can be some of the best work. People working at the manager and director levels are good people to work with.
Cons
The culture has significantly changed since the implementation of scheduled railroading. Senior management is only concerned about share holders and employee morale is at all time low.
