The company dangles your days off, your bonus, and everything under the sun, over your head. If it is not their way it is the the highway. The managers of management are completely disrespectful to their managers and SCRRRRREAM at them on conference call while everyone is toned in.No training whatsover its either hit the ground running or get walked on here. Expects you to fire employees if management simply doesnt like them.

Treated very badly. Work, work, and work more. Zero time off for any type of family or personal life.

Too much time away from home

on call type work, no days off unless you can use a personal leave day or daily vacation day which the company can remove or deny at any time, stay in motels hours away from home 12 hours to 48 hours waiting on trains, you will miss important life events and the company will not let you off for them, no sic days off, no comp time off, etc. You can and will be fired for any rule violations until you can have a formal hearing, the company is 99 percent going to win. Union does a horrible job negotiating contracts. Company violates your union negotiated contract daily and union does nothing about it..

There are quite a few negatives that have happened at csx in the last few decades. Management has changed from a culture of working with people to a structure of trying to force their will at every turn. There is near zero employee engagement at any level of the structure these days. People once went above and beyond. There are only three ways to motivate any employee in any job. Pay. Time. Opportunity. The pay is decent but if you are a union employee, they refuse to collow their agreements. Time was one of the only motivators we had. They'd let you leave early if you got your work finished. Now? No leaving early and no time off. We are threatened weekly with a new notice or mailing to our homes about taking any time off. And opportunities have disappeared as the hedge fund cut and cut and cut.
