Not the hardest work I’ve ever done. Most of the people are awesome to work with. The pay is good sometimes.
Cons
Trainmen & Engineer are treated like the scum of the earth and we’re the one on call all the time and away from home with no schedule only one held accountable for anything that happens on the railroad. The pay like I said was good sometimes the problem is on legitimate claims on Work they want deny them or pay what they want to pay day by day.

CEO operates like a dictator. Everyone is fearful to voice their opinions and leadership is constantly looking for internal groups to blame for every issue. Work/life balance does not exist as 12 hour days and working through you vacation time have become expected. Most groups are down to 50-60% of their staff, or worse, compared to 2016.

Over 20 years of service now contract employees are worthless.
Cons
They find any reason to fire you. I hate my job, it's now a poisonous fear environment. I'm constantly threaten about job performance. Csx have cut jobs with less people and with less time to do the job they want more work done.

Financial stability, great retirement. Great group of employees willing to sacrifice home time to see the company succeed. With less management everyday great opportunities for advancement very fast.
Cons
The intensity that is placed on ones shoulder is ridiculous so that 5 people couldn't do it. Time spent from home is almost 24/7. The company's direction is headed south on safety.

Great benefits. After an employee value proposition was done, the benefits were enhanced, including additional vacation time. Much more on par with time off now.
Cons
New leadership and changes to the organization have done a number. A company that I thought I would be ending my career with, is now one I wouldn't want to spend another minute at.
