The starting block for many engineers around Denver

Pros

Good exposure to a variety of projects and lab testing. A place where you will hone your technical writing skill. Technicians get a truck. Much of Denver's larger and more technical firms have engineers that got their start at CTL.

Cons

Not a place for long term career advancement. Too many people in management that have no business overseeing day to day activities. Work is fairly repetitive. Pay is low and heavily dependent on a large bonus at the end of the year.

This is a great company to begin one's career. One can get there feet wet and gain engineering experience.

Cons

Low pay compared to industry standard, rampant nepotism, lack of structure in mentorship, non-existent work life balance, the geotechnical manager has hired his entire family and picks favorites.

Terrible pay, some new hires make more than their trainers Terrible scheduler; blatant disregard for customers and employees, doesn't care for giving out jobs to everyone (days were you aren't scheduled at all, but others will have full schedules, claims he forgot you), and has an attitude that's both disrespectful and unprofessional. Company does the minimal to show appreciation. Get ready for a King Soopers gift card as your annual bonus!
