      Nice coworkers, employee discount nice.

      Cons

      Constantly keeping part time employee hours as short as possible. No customer service, shovel product and sell credit cards.

      Pros

      Cabela's offered decent pay, and pretty good benefits that included affordable health insurance and a company matched 401k. Almost all the other outfitters were great to work with. Management seemed like they cared a lot and were always willing to help and coach you. They have a pretty decent severance package, more than I expected to be quite honest. The employee discount is also pretty good and it gets better the longer you have been there. I also really liked the deli, good food and very affordable with the employee discount.

      Cons

      They obliterated their AP department getting rid of all the APS positions to my knowledge in record time I might add. I do love an efficient company, these guys can cut jobs faster than they can sling freight, it was like a game of fruit ninja only with jobs instead of oranges.

      Pros

      Fun atmosphere, great products, fun to be around all the wonderful things i enjoy doing in the outdoors. HR has great leadership from the top down. The HR team is highly engaged and is a real strength for the company.

      Cons

      General managers have way too much influence. If you dont get along with the GM your career is dead. Work-life balance can be challenging as well, retail never stops and there is an expectation from all departments even HR to help out on busy weekends holidays, evenings, etc...
