      Pros

      Unique leadership development opportunities; Variety of experience (Merchandising, Marketing, Retail, Strategy, Operations); Family values in a founder company; small town values in Sidney, NE (Corporate Headquarters); intentional efforts made for talent management; excellent communication enterprise wide; wonderful co-workers; people love their jobs

      Company appears to be adding vertical layers at a rapid rate without justification of additional headcount; strategic planning is delayed, causing some delay in execution; capability maturity of project/change sponsorship is low in most areas - not so much a negative, but something to keep in mind when setting expectations

      the employees were awesome but the managers were some of the worst i have ever worked with.

      Pros

      it was great to talk with people who liked the outdoors like i did. It was a fun work place to just go and talk about hunting fishing and camping.

      Cons

      Management in this store was horrible. they did not care about employees and never rewarded top performers. they also never hired a manager from inside the store they always went outside the store. once sales dropped the family feel was gone as the laid off many employees without any warning at all.

      Pros

      The pay is decent. In many cases, there is eventual opportunity for good benefits and promotion. And for outdoor enthusiasts, there is an employee discount, which becomes more generous the longer you work there.

      Cons

      Management can be petty, sneaky, and incompetent. Not in all cases, of course, but numerous times I have heard employees complain about management being sneaky, lazy, and abusive of their power.
