Frustrating place to work. Little opportunity to advance in technical role with BS or MS.
Pros
The company has been around since the 1800's. I love being part of the history of an enduring enterprise. The people I work with are largely collaborative, friendly, intelligent, self-motivating, and hard working.
Cons
The is a sense of being entirely disposable. In my experience, requests for a simple change in supervision have been ignored for years. Associates are placed on projects without consideration of their education or skill sets. For example, a chemical engineer might be given a synthesis project despite the availability of a chemist. I feel like a pair of hands. Transparency does not seem to be a goal at Cabot - from org charts, promotion ladders, internal data on our own products - you name it... we ask, they pretend to "work on" getting it for us, more of us quit in frustration, and ultimately, nothing changes.
