Pros

If you are pursuing a career in ABA, CAC has a clear path for growth from BT to BCBA. There are many opportunities for promotion and skill development.

Cons

Working in this industry in general can be emotionally taxing.

We are consistent with the level system we developed and happy to hear that it's clear to current employees. We agree that working as an autism service provider is challenging, which is why we offer our employees an EAP program to seek out services that could offer support.

Pros

Seeing the progress made by the children.

Cons

The pay is low in comparison to other ABA facilities. You have to request days off months into advance; they had up to three months of blocked out dates.

We recently updated our levels to ensure everyone meets the competencies of the Registered Behavior Technician role and also updated our compensation for each level. The base pay for a level 3 RBT is now $16.00 per hour not including benefits for full-time positions. Our time off request policy is a two-week notice to ensure coverage. We are flexible with time off requests as we understand everyone needs time off to relax and recover. We don't have three months of black out days. We do block off dates if multiple people at one location request time off (typically 5 or more people).

Pros

Collaborative work environment, manageable caseload hours, flexible hours, center based (primarily), professional development funds

Cons

Limited opportunities to transfer or grow as a Case Manager due to small company size and only three offices in the Central Valley
