      Pros

      Excellent engineering staff. Extremely smart and gifted employees. Friendly atmosphere. People are respectful of each other. People are encouraged to take hallway conversations to one of the many breakout rooms, so the Petaluma office is fairly quiet. Calix is appropriately customer-focused. It's nice to work for a company that wants to have happy customers.

      Cons

      No bonuses for engineers (that I know of!). Culture is extremely schedule-driven, sometimes to the detriment of the products.

      Pros

      Management is on the ball with competition and is systematically improving margin and quality. The CEO is sincere and doesn't try to deceive employees or investors.

      Cons

      No bonus program or cost of living increases. Employees have too much on their plate and too many projects to complete so sometimes quality is jepordized.
