      The good, the bad, the ugly

      Pros

      The majority of the people who work there, the benefit package, competitive salary.

      Cons

      Upper mgmt, favoritism, incredibly reactive as opposed to proactive, extremely cautious company, slow to embrace change, terrible work/life balance. No advancement unless you work in certain groups, such as Commercial or are favored by upper mgmt (that is the perception to those below the exec team). There are only 2 execs who were down to earth and approachable.

      Pros

      Calpine has the cleanest, newest, largest fleet of next generation power generation facilities in the U.S. Great collegial atmosphere, and generally high integrity workforce.

      Cons

      IPPs run "lean and mean" so sometimes adequate resources are not given to the pedestrian things that can matter such as adequate staffing, execution/project or contract management resources, etc.

      A company that dosent care about their employees

      Pros

      Good Pay and Benefits but that's about it.

      Cons

      If you want to work for a company that doesn't care about their employees this is a company to work for. I worked for them for over 17 years and was let go due to economic hardships that the company is . The management is a joke and the employees have more experience than the managers they work for.
