Alot of good people that are unappreciated and used up getting no credit for their part in this upside down pyramid

Trouble with federal government and now the state investigation with NCCC and other companies they are tied to.

We agree we are fortunate to work with many good people, but are disheartened to hear your thoughts about our company. Specifically, we’re disheartened because these frustrations could have been addressed with better communication. So for that, we’re sorry. First off, our issues with the federal government are behind us and were isolated to one former employee. Each and every time the federal government has contracted with CannonDesign it has found us to be a responsible contracting party. And today, we’re fortunate to have numerous ongoing contracts with the government. At NCCC, we’re proud of our work and are not a part of any investigation. We were hired for the project through a public bidding process, and the building that stands today demonstrates why we were selected — it’s a truly remarkable place. Finally, no company employees have paid country club memberships. However, as a firm, we do pay for every employee to belong to professional organizations for development and networking. For employees responsible for business development, we also sometimes reimburse expenses related to attending community events. But this isn’t a perk for upper management; we do this because our business depends on continues community networking and relationship building. The more troubling part of your review deals with the fact that you felt unappreciated. To accomplish the remarkable work we do, it truly takes a village, and we’re very sorry you didn’t get the acknowledgement you deserved. We will continue to work hard to ensure the contributions of every employee in our firm are celebrated. Thanks again for leaving us feedback and best of luck in your new career.

Pros

Lower staff willing to help. Interesting projects.

Cons

The firm where others get credit for your hard work. Poor leadership. Top heavy. Lot of talk and no delivery. The new CEO is arrogant completely uninspiring and the position is over his head.

Thanks for taking the time to write this review, and I’m sorry to see you decided to leave the firm. As the leader of our Chicago office, I take any feedback — good or bad — very seriously. And honestly, when I first saw your comment, it was tough to read. I wish we had the chance to talk about your frustrations before you left, and I wish you had the chance to get to know our CEO, Brad — because the person you wrote about in your review isn’t him. It’s been almost a year since our new leadership team was put in place. The team certainly has some challenges to solve, but they’re making significant progress and I have full faith this progress will continue. And, since Brad became CEO, he’s visited our office numerous times – and with each visit, he sits in our café for open office hours. He does this because he wants everyone to feel welcome to come up and talk to him about whatever’s on their minds. And most importantly, he doesn’t do this because we ask him to – he does it because he genuinely loves this company and wants every employee’s voice to be heard. I’m sorry we couldn’t meet your expectations while you were at CannonDesign. But I will continue to work tirelessly to make our firm an extraordinary place for every employee in Chicago. I have endless optimism for our firm’s future. -Tim Swanson, Office Practice Leader
