Pros

Offices look nice and there are fun events

Cons

Where to start.... 1) As previous reviews have stated the promotion process is an absolute joke. You can work extremely hard and be considered a rockstar on your client, but if you aren’t in the “inner circle” then you will never get recognition, much less a promotion. I’ve never seen a less transparent promotion process. I saw the same people get promoted over and over, and let’s just say they weren’t what you would call “high performers”. 2) I raised serious issues to HR on more than one occasion about senior leaders and their behaviors, and as other reviews mentioned not only was nothing done, but the script was flipped on me like somehow I was the problem.... and they wonder why no one is going to HR?!? 3) During COVID the company was not setup to “weather the storm” and basically told a good majority of employees who had worked their tails off for their hospitality clients that they no longer had positions and if they didn’t find new positions on the other limited projects, that they would be furloughed and eventually laid off. Those who didn’t get furloughed or laid off got their salaries slashed as well. In addition to all that, the poor lack of leadership that led us to be poorly positioned during COVID also then told us that senior leadership was not subject to the furloughs and layoffs. This definitely did not sit well with the employees. To add a cherry on top of all this bad news, they were bringing on interns and full time hires vs. working to retain salaried full time employees who had given several years to their company. I think this shows how much they really cared about their employees and time that was spent building those client relationships and get leadership their promotions and bonuses. As someone who personally experienced this, I felt like it was a total waste of multiple years based on how the company handled this situation.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are sorry your experience has caused you to doubt CapTech’s core values and question our response to the economic impact from COVID. We strive to cultivate an environment that supports our core values and during this world-wide pandemic, flexibility became an essential part of our improvement efforts. Our priority is to do everything we can to protect the careers of our consultants and offer growth and career advancement, while also being prepared to pivot quickly, and adeptly when things change. We acknowledge that the current global health crisis created an unavoidable slowdown for CapTech in the early months of the year and our response included furloughs and a temporary decrease in salaries. CapTecher’s at all levels were affected and an economic downturn plan was activated which called for leadership to take significant reductions to their compensation as well. Additionally, please know that we have heard the feedback and concerns related to career growth and promotion plans and will be rolling out enhanced guidance later this year. I wish your experience had been better with us. Thank you for your contributions and please feel free to contact me directly at kapostolides@captechconsulting.com if there is anything you would like to discuss. - Katy Apostolides, HR Director
