Pros

There are some really great, smart people at the Consultant and Senior Consultant level. Even a few at the Manager level. Open bar at quarterly meetings. Possibly a decent place for people fresh out of college for a year or two.

Cons

No real opportunities for technical advancement. Not really consulting, it's staff augmentation. The higher up in the company, the more out of touch with reality and more of a cheerleader people are. Virtually no credit given to anyone below highest echelons. Interactions are stiff and formal, even when in small group and one-on-one settings. Generic culture and atmosphere. Only focus is on making as much money for the company as possible, not on creating a positive working environment.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are focused on providing creative solutions. Given the nature of consulting, we cannot ensure that every consultant will be placed on a project that aligns entirely with their skillset , which is why we provide ways to use and advance your skills in other areas and participate in internal projects and initiatives. We offer a technical track for advancement and tech and innovation challenges quarterly. We wish you had a better experience at CapTech and wish you the best of luck with your next opportunity. Thanks again.

At CapTech, we offer many opportunities for our consultants to get involved with our organization, our clients and our communities. We strongly encourage consultants to network with their CapTech peers and with our clients. We strive to maintain a culture of continuous feedback, professional development and mentorship. Consulting Magazine has released their 2018 ‘Best Firms to Work For’ rankings, placing CapTech at #6 for the third consecutive year. CapTech received high scores in meeting career development, culture, meeting client needs and work/life balance. We also encourage our employees to talk to us about their experience with CapTech, and help us maintain our unique culture as we continue to grow.

Pros

I think that the people are the company's greatest strength. At times, the atmosphere was a little bit cliquish, but most everyone was nice to be around. There are many experts here and if your willing to put in the extra hours, you can certainly learn a lot from them. I really enjoyed the mentor program and the regular evaluator meetings - they kept me going even though I ended up on less than exciting projects.

Cons

You need to be comfortable with uncertainty here. You can't really control what kind of project you go to, or what kind of skills you'll need to focus on. Sometimes you'll spend a year ramping up for an opportunity only to see it fall through and have to scramble to prepare for a completely different project. The nature of work varies significantly from project to project. I get that this is the way the consulting world works, but I think it could have been made more clear when I was recruited. Career advancement is also uncertain. In order to get noticed, you either need to be fortunate enough to land on a critical project in a critical role or you need to spend your free time doing favors for managers in order to brown-nose your way to a promotion.
