Pros

Mostly remote Multiple project experiences

Cons

Many layoffs over the last 2 years Although you can make your own career, it still comes down to account management and how you can bring in revenue Definitely some toxic leaders and projects, but HR looks the other way as long as the project brings in revenue Promotions and raises are a joke

Pros

- A good coaching culture where managers (if you are lucky to get someone invested/on a project near you) tend to care about their "coachees" - If you are young / out of college it is a great way to grow quickly by working with senior leaders and being placed in highly visible situations - If you do not want to travel then it is not forced upon you - Offices are very nice and located in exciting cities (however sometimes located in suburban+ areas)

Cons

- Work life balance disappears when placed on a highly visible project or one with VIP clients (including coercion to work nights and meetings scheduled on weekends) - Is extremely political to get to the top or be in the inner circles or cliques. You must be a savvy social extrovert and if not, you are penalized or cast out. - Much higher salaries (20k+ disparity) given to talent leaving the "Big 4" vs. talent from elsewhere or salary raises for current employees. - CapTech bends over and backwards to staff as many people on client engagements no matter the work. There is a lot of staff augmentation which has lead to people leaving.

Thank you for your review. It sounds like you’ve had a positive experience in your local office and are benefiting from our coaching culture. We pride ourselves on truly experiencing work-life balance, though at times it may change based on your current project and client demands. We are constantly looking at our compensation strategy in each market as there are multiple factors that go into an individual’s compensation. If you’d like to discuss any of your concerns further, feel free to reach out to me or your Office Lead directly. - Suzie Turner, Principal

Nothing but lies

Pros

None, really. It's been an incredibly awful experience and truly a setback in my career.

Cons

Anyone interested in technical roles should avoid this company. You'll do nothing but mindless grunt work (don't believe the "we don't do staff aug" lies. It's the only type of work they can get with most clients). Any form of career growth requires you to be involved in sales and/or account management (which is basically just sales). DE&I is performative at best. There's literally nothing good about working here.

This is a disheartening review to read. We work with Fortune 500 clients, across a multitude of industries, solving some of their toughest tech challenges. While staff augmentation can be a part of some projects, it is certainly not the bulk of the incredible work we do as a company. Along with expanding skill sets on exciting client work, we have true growth paths for our people, including people management and subject matter expertise. We are tremendously proud of our Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIB) efforts spearheaded by our DIB Council and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) which are supported by our executive leadership and driven by our people. There is nothing performative about the work these dedicated groups are doing at CapTech. You are welcome to reach out to me directly to discuss your concerns. -Katy Apostolides, Managing Director - HR
