Pros

The COVID crisis challenged CapTech to support one another and has allowed us to discover what we could be. As challenges are presented, the leadership team rallies together and leans in to support wherever needed. Transparent and regular communications as well as the care for each employee are key reasons why I've spent decades with this company. Each consultant is encouraged to develop and own career paths aligned with playing multiple roles/skills and developing into leaders. Our staffing tools and processes allow us to know each employee and use this information to influence staffing decisions. Our employees are intellectually curious and collaborative with sharing knowledge and providing mentoring for the good of the whole organization. Challenging consulting work without the stress of required travel and high billability targets.

Cons

Client work is often very technical - consultants need to train up and learn legacy tools and environments quickly. Being comfortable with change and adapting to meet client needs can be challenging at times.

Thank you for your review and your many years with CapTech. You’ve clearly been here long enough to experience CapTech in good times (incredible growth) and our most challenging (COVID-19). Your review, grounded with that experience, is greatly appreciated and provides sound feedback for us and our future CapTechers. Thank you for your commitment to CapTech, our clients, and your fellow CapTechers. –Katy Apostolides, HR Director

Pros

CapTech lives our core values. What keeps me at CapTech is our focus on being Trusted Advisors and Servant Leaders to our clients and bringing in intellectually curious, driven consultants to make our clients successful.

Cons

Like most consulting companies, you need to be comfortable managing your career.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this review. Thank you, as well, for your commitment to CapTech and our clients. Speaking of intellectually curious and driven consultants, as you know, we are super excited to be able to continue the intern program this year and can’t wait to see the results of their COVID-19-inspired project later this month. On the career front, you bring up a great point. Many CapTechers are here because they have control over their career, but it is a learning process to take the initiative and manage it well. Therefore, strengthening and clarifying our career pathing process is one of our top initiatives this year. Your CapTech experience and feedback on this topic is especially appreciated. Please reach out to me directly if you would be comfortable discussing further. –Katy Apostolides, HR Director

A firm that gives back what you put in

Pros

CapTech was one of the first places I worked with a clear, reasonable, and attainable ladder for growth and development. There's a lot of effort put into coaching and achieving promotions. People are able to learn, pivot in their paths and excel—based on how much the efforts you are willing to put in. Simply put, it's a firm that invests in you and rewards you for how you when you're able to learn new skills, grow accounts or build strong teams that deliver.

Cons

The CEOs and highest level of leadership are authentic people that want to do their best. They listen to their people, apologize when they've messed up, and share their commitments to do better. CapTech does need to do a better job hiring a diverse senior leader team, and they've shown they are committed here. I would appreciate a more transparent list of what steps they plan to take in the calendar year and beyond. I've had many engaging and interesting projects, but I know that can't be said for all people. I think if CapTech can ensure a rotation plan for people who've stuck it out on "staff aug" roles for a significant amount of time would be a good path to achieve better balance and satisfaction, as well as rewarding and giving promotions for high performers who continue to manage and perform work on accounts that are less than thrilling.

Thank you for your review, candid feedback, and helping us drive change. We are greatly improving the communications of our D&I efforts and planning, including a new section in our monthly newsletter, more regular company-wide & office-level announcements, discussion groups, and the revamping of the D&I internal site. These channels will provide the opportunity for CapTechers to be more involved and remain up to date on the latest D&I Council plans. Also, thank you for the feedback on a potential rotation plan for our consultants. I will gladly pass this along to our leadership. ---Katy Apostolides, HR Director
