Don't Work Here!

Pros

If you work here, open as many accounts for your family and extended family as you possible can. You can buy the mutual funds at NAV (Class A with no commission) for life, even if you leave the company. Although pay is lower than most other companies for the work, company provides retirement plan (MRP) of 15% of your salary per year....you vest after 6 years...most employees stay because of this (Golden Handcuffs).

Cons

Mediocracy is promoted. Ideas are accepted only when pushed, and even then, there is no reward when they use them. In fact, you will suddenly find that you have "personality" issues in your review, which will never go away!. Stepford wive's mentality.....as long as you always go with the flow and smile no matter what....you will fit in perfectly. Very clique-ish. The Golden Handcuffs (see Pros). It took years for me to re-gain my self-esteem after this job. Worst place I have ever worked.

Pros

Benefits start on your first day. Great retirement plan where Capital Group contributes 15% of your annual salary..not match..they GIVE you tge 15%. Training is ongoing, you are constantly learning.

Cons

If you work and not up walking around talking, surfing the web or wasting time on sametime..you WILL get promoted. There are some promotions that are more diffuclt to obtain but with 1 on 1's and listening to your Manager and incorporate what your Managers are saying you can work on..you will get promoted. Some team managers and managers just dont care. They are not there to help you succeed. They are on the phone constantly or just gone! Most of them are awesome. I know at my site, the Senior Managers are awesome. They really practice an open door policy.

Pros

The benefits at this company are second-to-none. The health coverage, 15% retirement contribution, and bonus structure (for exempt and exempt-equivalent associates) really are top notch.

Cons

It can be difficult to advance beyond a certain point unless you are one of the "chosen" ones. Also, the pre-sale side caters to the every whim of the sales staff and positions them as the most important people in the building.
