Pros

Most active investment managers don't consistently add value over passive. This one does. If you are in any kind of sales, marketing, or investment role, this is a place you can feel really good to represent.

Cons

This used to be a much better place to work. In certain parts of the organization it probably still is. If you're a minority or woman it's great. But the DEI effort and racial/gender hiring/promoting targets are in your face. They take them seriously and they hold people out of interviews for positions they are qualified for if they don't meet the target demographic profile. If you want to work somewhere purely merit-based this is not for you. Back in office 4 days per week.

Toxic Management

Pros

Benefits and co-workers were amazing.

Cons

Saying is very true you leave a company because of your manager. In all my years of working I was never treated so poorly as I was my last year at CG when a new person took over my department. It became extremely toxic. They are dishonest at stating they invest in their employees. HR was no help if your manager wants you out. They don't need a reason to terminate you they will just make one up.

Pros

Great benefits and pay when compared to similar companies in location. Very big on DEI efforts. Flexible with time and emphasis on work/life balance, and ability to work part time from home is helpful. Direct managers and coworkers are all generally pleasant to work with and be around. Team managers seem genuinely interested in their associates. On a more superficial level the campus and cafeteria are nice.

Cons

Procedures and expectations are extremely unclear and will vary depending on who you ask. Upper management (Senior Managers and above) seem out of touch- they will have “round tables” to connect with associates but honestly these seem more like sessions to pre-emptively justify themselves to us rather than actually listen. Planning (or lack of it) tends to come off as unorganized and/or short sighted.
