Pros

Good coworkers and people who care about you

Cons

Management and those above do not care about you and does not acknowledge ANYONE’S resignation. Providers are stealing medications, and when brought to the attention of management, they clearly try to cover it up with HR. HR is not your friend and will not help protect you. Instead, they retaliate, drive people out, or force you to resign. Anything brought up to management is not handled in a correct and professional manner, yet they turn it around on all staff members and calling them “inappropriate” questions when being blindsided by changes. What’s inappropriate is allowing 8+ employees to resign and not formally acknowledge it, covering up cases of theft of providers and themselves, climbing up the ladder by openly cheating on their spouses, harassment/bullying/intimidation towards staff, and no respect to any of the staff members (other managers, medical assistants, nurses, secretaries, etc). This place is ran by the wrong people and is very much a lawsuit waiting to happen. Do not risk your own sanity and license for some terrible pay.

Pros

Benefits aren’t terrible. I love the ppl I work with, teamwork. Some nice perks - better gifts (eg, hospital week, certified nurses day) than any other place I’ve worked, free turkeys at the holiday, free access to CE Direct for nurses. Not a mega-healthcare system, better family/close knit feel. Community-focused organization.

Cons

Pay too low. Advancement based on internal relationships (eg, who you’re friends with). Poor staffing ratios (because they can’t hire/retain staff - especially experienced staff). High turnover in middle management (nurse managers) due to high demands/low pay. Lack of resources (personnel, bed capacity, supplies, working equipment). Very top-heavy senior leadership.
