Older company stuck in its ways

Pros

Benefits are on par with most organizations, i.e. health insurance, PTO, FSA, etc. Salary is competitive and they try to retain star employees.

Cons

Shady on boarding and off boarding practices. It is not uncommon for employees, even those who have been there for years, to suddenly receive termination paperwork in the mail without any prior warning, on a weekend nonetheless. The headquarters is laid out in a typical office setting with high cube walls and little stimulus to keep you engaged with your teammates. It does not encourage team building or even getting to know your neighbors. It is not uncommon to work in this medium sized, single floor building for months and still bump into people you've never seen before. Some management is quick to axe their employees in exchange for a better office, bigger salary or other perks. This is not a company you work at to feel valued, enjoy what you do or interact with your teammates on a positive level. Rather it's a gateway to something better. It's mundane environment leaves much to desire and it will disappoint.

Pros

Opportunity to schedule your work and time and resources to complete difficult jobs

Cons

Can't think of anything major that's a con. R&D is constantly making products better so keeping up on all the changes is a challenge but that's not a bad thing.
