Pros

Autonomy to work your own schedule as a technician.

Cons

I worked at CKE for 4 years, and in that time the one thing that remained the same was change. Change isnt bad but when it affects your paycheck in the course of thousands of dollars, then yes change is bad. In the course of time I have seen a considerable amount of turnover and lack of communication with the corporate office in Louisville which always seems to be the same story of well get someone back to you. When someone quits or is fired they is always a email or word by mouth from someone at corporate about why they left. Most of the technicians are starting to see that this company is a facade for everything they do wrong and people are starting to see it. From limiting the amount of money a tech can make to the garbage product they sell and expect you to work longer hours to make up for loss wages when the only people that benefit is the owners. This is a company that will tell you one thing and do anther and then make you look like scum the next.

Our techs are: Much better paid than their peers in other industries. Average $70k, twice what our competitors pay Top performers $100k plus Personal freedom without supervision Best stocked in the industry, with 3 times what competitors have We’re looking forward to even more record-breaking years, and even more opportunities for our team, who are provided the best pay, most inventory, best working conditions, and the most opportunities in the industry--by far! From our job posting: “After one year, our typical tech earns over $68,000 per year. Our top 30% earn over $82,000 per year. Our highest performers make over $110,000 per year.” All those things are true, except one. Our average tech earns not $68k, but, rather $70k. It's mathematical evidence of our management and ownership's commitment to having the best paid technicians in the history of the industry. No one comes close, with our techs earning 2-3 times what competitors pay. With that said, that post gives us the opportunity to respond, and announce some exciting news! We have two national accounts joining soon, which will bring our average 50% year-over-year growth even higher. Also, we’re instituting a program allowing our field technicians yet another level of promotion with the ability to manage others. Yet another program allows techs to sell our services, allowing them to earn even more! Our techs get the most personal freedom in the industry. While our competitors are largely confined to one location, our techs are highly mobile and self-supervised. We stock our service vehicles with three times more keys than our competitors do, allowing our techs to earn twice to three times what our competitors pay. Our highest performers earn over six figure incomes. We’re so proud to offer this tremendous opportunity so rare in today’s economy. We’re looking forward to even more record-breaking years, and even more opportunities for our team, who are provided the best pay, most inventory, best working conditions, and the most opportunities in the industry--by far!

Glassdoor--it's the "review" site where, sadly, you can be accused of "micromanagement overload" by a person who works from home. Of the many, quietly successful employees, there will be a rare situation where one who doesn’t make the grade. Our turnover remains much lower than the 15% nationwide average because our Managers have much better working conditions than the crazy hours of dealership management. Also, it's important that our sales people can close at a decent rate, otherwise they'll not be successful here, or in any sales position. Upon separation, we wished the person in question good luck, and still do today. So, you’ll see a common theme here: that upper management is the worst thing to happen to the company. Of course, it’s the same management that started the company from nothing and turned it into three industry-leading companies. This review gives us a chance to publicly reply with some great news! We just closed the books on 2016 and it was another record year of growth for Car Keys Express. At this time, we're growing faster than at any time in the company's history. What we're doing works, and we're the fastest growing dealership vendor in America. We were recently honored with INC magazine's INC 5000 award, recognizing America's fastest-growing private companies. To get a better understanding of the whole story, feel free to reach out to our “news” webpage, and contact our recruiters (because we’re growing, we’re always hiring) or human resources department, and they’ll tell you about all the exciting opportunities working with out amazing team!

Pros

I heard a lot about 'big brother' before starting but don't feel it. They seem to 'review' what you do and only work with you to be better. Been here a few months and haven't heard anything but positive advice. Pretty good pay and if I have needed anything...they supply it. Coming from sales...it is really nice to have more time home with my family without my income taking a hit. Will definitely be staying put!

Cons

I think the only con I can say is that the sales team seems to be spread out thin. I was aggravated until I saw how much area they cover. They work hard! So, if you want business...go get it! They will reward you for it, as well.
