One of the worst places you can work whether you’re at the manager or associate level.
I was brought on as the Outbound Ops Manager in February of 2023. Prior to signing my offer letter, I had an agreement in place with Management that I would only be on the night shift for nine months and I was even sent the job description for the Inventory Manager role.
As time went by, there were no updates for me on a potential transition to a different shift. I asked about the transition at the six, nine, and 12 month marks and was never given a straight answer. Then, in April of 2024, I expressed that I was going through some personal matters and would love to stay with the company, just potentially at a distribution center in a different state. Management said they would reach out to management at this other distribution center about the possibility. Fast forward one month, I attended my weekly 1:1 and learned that they were accepting my resignation effective immediately even though I hadn’t resigned and never even gave them a date. Leading up to me being let go, I was supposed to have two meetings with Senior Leadership to discuss my future and both of them were cancelled at the last minute.
I then applied for unemployment but was denied because Cardinal Health claimed that I quit my job. I obviously appealed the decision and ended up having a hearing with the state of Massachusetts. I ultimately presented my case and the state ruled in my favor due to me never resigning.
Since I was let go, I’ve also heard of multiple other leaders being let go for very questionable reasons. The culture at this place is horrible and it all starts with the upper management in the building. One of my worst career moves was joining Cardinal Health and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
