Pros
Family-Like Culture: Carenet offers a deeply supportive, close-knit atmosphere where coworkers become like family. The peer relationships here are so strong, many of us connect outside of work — a testament to the meaningful bonds built through shared purpose and mutual respect.
Empowered Nursing Practice: As a telephone triage nurse, I feel truly valued for my clinical expertise. Managers trust us to make sound nursing judgments, which is incredibly empowering. The growth path is clear and attainable — from Care Advisor to Preceptor, Charge Nurse, Supervisor, and beyond.
Flexible Scheduling: With 24-hour coverage options, there's a schedule for nearly every life stage or preference. This flexibility makes balancing work and life possible without sacrificing either.
Culture of Encouragement: Every level of the organization — from frontline to senior leadership — embodies care, compassion, and encouragement. Nurses, callers, and ancillary staff are all treated with dignity and importance.
Purpose-Driven Mission: I’ve never felt so connected to a company’s mission. Carenet lives up to its name — a true caring network of professionals across roles and departments.
Longevity Worth Aspiring To: I hope to retire from Carenet in 20 years. There is no other place I’d rather be, and I consider myself incredibly lucky to have found this professional home.
Cons
Cons:
Limitations of Virtual Care: The only drawback of virtual triage is not being able to physically assess patients. For example, in person you’d know if a wound is red, but over the phone you must rely entirely on the caller’s description. This makes precise and thoughtful questioning essential.
