I worked at Cargill for 5 years. Good pay. 401 K. Decent benefits. Good hrs

I was on the list to be a lead but as you go by the book sometimes its not enough and is given to the one with safety violations and no experience on the department. Moving up is based on kissing butt and favoritism. They wont hesitate on moving you to a harder position and keeping you there with the same grade pay. H.R worries more about protecting the company hen helping the employees when at times the company is at fault. Need work on the leads and supervisors for they like to talk down to the employees and treat them like its a sweat shop while they fall behind knowing that as a lead and part of food safety that the can and jump on the production line to help to catch up and to prevent a accident while working with knifes. l

Still privately held. Strong corporate values around corporate ethics, safety and protecting the environment.. Big emphasis on sustainability and being good global citizens. Employees were friendly and helpful. Benefits were good.

Cons

Compensation was ok. Lots of changes being implemented due to poor business results the past few years. Many jobs being out sourced or offshored to regional business centers. Lots of uncertainty regarding job security. They are a bit behind the time regarding process improvement.
