Pros

Only good thing about working for a clinic is the hours since it is a doctors office you have holidays off and weekends.

Cons

I disagree with the way they use an employers PTO hours when the office is closed. I also do not like how they treat their employers, they expect to much out of the nurses which allows opportunities for mistakes. I also disagree with the way they feel they can release an employee while on FMLA due to surgery and releasing them by calling them on the phone with no real reasoning. They cut back the employees raises but yet they put more work on them while the big boss got a larger raise. I just feel like Carilion in general is a bad company to work for.

Pros

Good pay and you CAN learn a lot working with Carilion.

Cons

Very unprofessional atmosphere to be such a big organization. Not quite sure who is in charge and what the rules are from day to day. It without a doubt depends on who you know, and who you are friends with in this organization. No one really to turn to if there Really is a problem.

Pros

I enjoy the people that I work with including the people who manage the department. The managers support your ideas and promote change. The facility itself is in great condition. There are also paramedics, CAs, and housekeeping as well which helps the nurses provide better care for their patient's.

Cons

The salary is low. Carilion offers very little money to their nurses. There is no benefit to staying for the long term. Often times nurses get their year or two of experience and then leave. This means the nurses that stay spend a lot of their time orienting new and very inexperienced nurses without being compensated.
