I work with some of the best Surgeons around! Love them and the team I work with. Decent hours.

Cons

Management is horrible and backstabbing. Tells you something to your face then turns around the next day and says they never said that. Tries everything they can to set you up to get a PID or DA so you are not eligible to transfer out. Never puts anything in writing so they can back track their story and make it suit their needs. Pitting employees against one another to create animosity in the department. Degrading remarks to employees that are looking to transfer out. Retaliated against by contacting HR over a transfer and management issue. I would NOT recommend anyone to work for Carilion.

Staffing shortages Inadequate parking Very stringent attendance policies and operational procedures that are consistently changing making them difficult to follow Insufficient orientation during staffing shortages

Expected to work weekends and mandatory overtime but this is a hospital and that should be expected
