Pros

I enjoyed my job as far as the labor involved. 3 shifts to choose from which leaves plenty of personal time before or after work. Most employees there are great to work with. Employees like to have regular pot-lucks for lunch with great homemade food(all provided by employees). They finally put in a new bigger lunch room that has A/C. A lot of good humor between employees which makes it bearable.

Cons

No a/c in production area(You get a wet shamwow for your neck when its hot). There is some nepotism there with some of the management. Family looks after each other. Management ignores safety issues brought up by employees, they act only after an injury or if they're directed to with policy change. There are also many promises management makes that they don't keep. It is also difficult to get pay raises and title advancement for most employees. They seem to like the fact that most employees there are timid and don't speak up about those issues. Some people there are still labeled "in training" after 8+ yrs of being there(and they clearly can do their jobs, but earn just a little over minimum wage). Management expects employees to step up and take ownership with their departments and helping to manage but wont back up those employees when management is inconvenienced. As far as production, they are trying to work with a "kiazen" program. "Kaizen" made many changes to the production process which actually ended up hurting production in some areas making things more difficult for employees. Most machines are 30+ years old and worn out.

Not a good place to work.

Pros

Most of the comradery that exists between employees is about their resentment for poor management.

Cons

The DO has a dominant personality and isn't interested in listening to employees. The company management culture thrives in pointing out the failures of the employees. Management is under intense pressure to report KPI improvements. The pressure results in reports that hide true problems and metrics that don't help solve actual real world problems.
